Help with your projects.

Stillmaking helps you remember where you left a project and choose what to do next. For help with the iOS app, email senekudesign+support@gmail.com.

Back up or move your projects

Open You → Backup, export and import → Export everything. Keep “Include the photos at full size” selected if you want the original photos in your backup, then save the ZIP somewhere you trust using the share sheet. Export is always free.

To restore, choose Import from a file in the same section. Review the preview before confirming. Merge adds projects that are not already on the device and keeps existing versions. Replace replaces the current record with the backup. Make a separate backup of your current projects before choosing Replace.

The app does not sync projects automatically. Back up before changing devices or reinstalling. A project backup does not transfer purchase ownership; restore your purchase separately through Apple. Exports are not encrypted by the app, and original photos may contain location or other metadata.

What is free, and what does the unlock add?

You can have three projects ready, active or blocked at a time for free. Ideas and paused projects do not count. Finished projects and projects you have set down do not count either.

The lifetime unlock removes that limit with one payment. There is no subscription or expiry. Reading, editing, photographing, exporting, pausing, finishing and setting down your existing projects remain available without buying it.

Restore a purchase

Open You → The shelf → Restore a purchase. Connect to the internet and use the Apple Account that bought the unlock. Restoring the purchase restores access to the unlock; use a project backup to restore your projects.

If the store is unavailable, keep your existing work and try again when connected. Some test builds may not offer purchases. If an unlock still does not appear, contact us with your app version and what the app displays. Do not send payment card details. Refund requests go through Apple's Report a Problem.

Pick up an unfinished session

Reopen the app and return to the unfinished session. Session notes and attached photos are saved so you can continue. When you end a session, leave a short note about where you stopped and, if useful, a next action. Your project shows that note under “Where you left it”.

The timer is optional. Hiding it does not prevent you from recording your work. Pausing a project or setting it down keeps its notes and photos for later.

Photos or reminders are unavailable

You can add a progress photo from a project or when ending a session. Cancelling the photo picker leaves the session open. If access was denied, check the app's camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings. You can keep working without a photo.

Reminders are optional and off by default. Enable the reminders you want under You → Notifications, then allow notifications in iOS. Focus, notification permissions and preview settings can affect what appears. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Delete or recover a project

Deleting a project can't be undone in the app. It leaves your shelf straight away and won't show in History, the Gallery or any later export. If you only want a project off your shelf, choose End this project here instead. That sets it down with everything kept, and you can reopen it later.

A deleted project's notes, photos and sessions stay on your device, hidden, until you clear them. To remove them for good, open You → Data → Deleted projects and choose Clear them from this device. Archiving a duplicate from the shelf works the same way as deleting it.

The only way to bring back a deleted project is a backup made before you deleted it. First clear your deleted projects, then choose Import from a file and pick Merge. Merge adds the projects from the backup that aren't on the device, and leaves your current projects as they are.

You → Data and privacy → Delete all data removes local project records and app-owned project photos while keeping your cached unlock. It does not delete exported files or originals in your photo library. Back up anything you want to keep first.

Report a problem

Email senekudesign+support@gmail.com and include:

  • The app version and build shown under You → Help.
  • Your device model and iOS version.
  • What you were doing, what happened and what you expected.
  • Any message shown by the app. A screenshot is optional.

Please leave private project text, photos and backup files out unless you choose to share them. If your work will not open or save, keep the app installed and contact support before deleting anything. We cannot retrieve your local projects from a server.
