Health & Safety Warning

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Please read this warning before playing Vectorhythm. Vectorhythm is a fast, high-contrast neon game with flashing lights, strobing effects and rapid on-screen motion.

Photosensitive seizure warning

A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that can appear in video games. Because Vectorhythm uses bright neon visuals, strobing effects, screen flashes and fast motion, it may not be suitable for players who are sensitive to such content.

Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause "photosensitive epileptic seizures" while watching video games.

These seizures may take various forms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling or striking nearby objects.

Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for — or ask their children about — these symptoms, as children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience them.

Reducing your risk

  • Play in a well-lit room.
  • Sit or stand as far from the screen as is comfortable.
  • Play on a smaller screen where possible.
  • Avoid playing when you are tired or need sleep.
  • Take a 10–15 minute break every hour.

If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

Accessibility options

Vectorhythm includes settings that reduce visual intensity. In the Settings menu you can turn off the animated Background Pulse to remove the strobing background effect, and enable colour-blind modes. We recommend adjusting these to your comfort before an extended session.

General health & wellbeing

  • Take regular breaks. Stop playing for a while every 30–60 minutes, even if you don't think you need to.
  • Avoid strain. Playing for long periods may make your muscles, joints, hands or eyes sore. If you feel aching, numbness, tingling or stiffness, stop and rest before playing again. If symptoms persist, see a doctor.
  • Motion & comfort. Fast movement, camera shake and flashing may cause discomfort, nausea or disorientation for some players. Stop if you feel unwell.
  • Protect your hearing. Vectorhythm is a rhythm game — keep the volume at a safe level, especially when using headphones.
